Summary/objective As a reflection of our current growth, we have several openings on our team for experienced Facility Mechanic for 1st shift.
Candidates should have at least 3 years of Facility Maintenance experience with specific responsibilities for maintaining a mid-size manufacturing and warehouse facility. Familiarity and/or experience in the following areas is preferred:
- Boilers
- Chillers
- Electrical panels, wiring & VFD’s
- Fork truck and scissor lift operation
- HVAC systems
- Fire suppression systems
- Natural Gas
- Roofing
- Warehouse racking
- Lighting
- General Construction
- Ability to manage outside vendors
Mechanics report to the Maintenance Manager and work with their teams to ensure the facility is clean, operational, take the lead on projects and be part of Focused Improvement Team efforts as part of FMI Continuous Improvement Culture.
Some weekend and overtime work will be required. Mechanics will drive preventative and predictive maintenance; and assist the maintenance team in the troubleshooting and resolving equipment problems; assist in the control of downtime by informing production personnel of maintenance; maintain equipment, parts, and supplies, placing and expediting orders and verifying receipt; and maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with all procedures, rules, and PPE.

Work environment/Physical demands This is a service and support role, and critical to FMI daily and long-term operations. It will sometimes require weekend support, frequent climbing of stairs and platforms, and physical demands of repairing and rebuilding equipment.
