WHAT YOU WILL DO
Work with Foundation staff to ensure accuracy, currency and comprehensiveness of biographical data on prospects.
Identify pools of constituents as likely “major gift” or “planned giving” prospects and suspects.
Develop and maintain the prospect management system, in consultation with the Corporate Executive Director.
Help develop, maintain, and update a dynamic list of policies, procedures, training manuals, and regulations related to the use of the prospect management system.
Develop datamining strategies to support Foundation strategies.
Analyze and assess information from local, national, and international resources; financial and philanthropy reports; references (both printed and electronic); and Foundation files.
Utilize quantitative criteria, including income, assets, liabilities, and giving patterns to evaluate each identified prospect's potential and propensity to give.
Identify, obtain, and interpret detailed/complex financial and legal disclosures including corporate reports (10K, proxy statements), foundation tax reports (IRS 990-PF), and state, county, and court documents (corporate records, assessment records, probate cases).
Develop and maintains a process for generating and distributing regularly scheduled and ad hoc reports for the Foundation on the status of all ongoing fundraising programs.
Provide timely and accurate generation of wealth screening profiles and reports.
Respond to inquiries from colleagues, including necessary research to resolve issues with research findings, in a timely manner.
Complete special research projects associated with corporate or divisional priorities and assist with recommend funding strategies.
WHAT IT TAKES TO SUCCEED
Handle various special projects on an ongoing basis.
Accurately perform data import/exports, mail merges, and upload documents into database.
Quickly learn and comprehend a complex database with highly detailed policies and procedures.
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Accurately write, proofread, and edit complex reports and correspondence.
Good problem-solving sand analytical skills.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree Required and
Master's Degree Preferred
3 years Prospect Research Required
