Property Management Assistant
The Franklin County Regional Housing and Redevelopment Authority (HRA) serves the housing and
community development needs of the twenty-six towns of Franklin County, Massachusetts. We work with
residents to successfully access a wide variety of housing resources. We also work with the municipalities
of Franklin County to apply for and administer grant funding for various infrastructure and community
development projects.
Position Overview: The Property Management Assistant provides a range of clerical, administrative and
intake services in support of the Property Management Department. The Property Management
Department manages the overall resident management duties of the public and private affordable housing
properties owned and/or operated by HRA.
Job Class: Part-time (15 hours a week), Non-Exempt
Supervision Received: Works under the supervision of the Director of Property and Asset Management
Supervision Given: None
Principal Duties:
1. Aid in supporting state-aided public housing and private housing waitlists.
2. Preparing mailings for annual recertifications, waitlist screening packets, and other documentation
as assigned.
3. Assist with applicant intake to answer basic questions or route callers/visitors to the proper staff
member.
4. Assist with the rent collection process by contacting tenants with past-due balances and start small
claims procedures, when required.
5. Review applications for completeness and accuracy.
6. Scan and upload documents as decided by Property Managers.
7. File and manage paperwork as assigned.
8. Perform other related duties as assigned.

3. All personnel are responsible for adherence to HRA personnel policies, including the prevention of
conflict of interest, misuse of funds, or abuse of trust and are responsible for reporting known
misconduct to an Executive officer.

Minimum Qualifications:
1. One (1) year of administrative experience preferred.
2. High school degree or equivalent.
3. Experience in a position requiring discretion, ensuring confidentiality of client and personnel data.
Additional Qualifications:
1. Demonstrated people skills, including the ability to develop and support professional working
relationships with tenants, applicants, and colleagues.
2. Excellent organizational skills and attentiveness to detail.
3. Initiative, ability, and judgment to work independently and set priorities for work.
4. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. Ability to compose basic
correspondence with minimal guidance.
5. Knowledge of the use of standard office equipment including, but not limited to computers,
telephone systems, photocopiers, calculators, and scanners.
6. Proficient with the Microsoft Office Suite programs, with particular attention to Word and Excel,
and the ability to learn new computer programs with ease.
7. Ability to make and check accuracy of simple arithmetic computations.
8. Spanish fluency is a plus.
