What are the responsibilities and job description for the EDUCATONAL SUPPORT PROFESSIONAL - GOALS PROGRAM position at Franklin Public Schools?
Comments/Recommendations: The Franklin Public Schools, a Prek-12 district, is seeking an enthusiastic, dedicated individual to work as an educational assistant in the GOALS Program at the Jefferson Elementary School. The GOALS Program provides a constellation of services for students with Autism Spectrum Disorders. The program is designed to help children with Autism reach their full potential by providing direct instruction and embedded support in the areas of social skills, academic skills, behavior, language, self-regulation and communication across all environments. The students also receive highly specialized instruction within inclusion classrooms as appropriate.
This work of the assistant is performed under the direction of administration, lead teachers and BCBA. Responsibilities of the educational assistant include: -Aiding in planning and implementing academic and behavioral programming for assigned students in collaboration with other members of the team-Recording and summarizing data-Writing progress notes-Work collaboratively with GOALS team members -Modifying general education curriculum/expectations to meet students needs and skill level to insure successful inclusion experiencesActively participate in on-going trainingWe understand that our collective success depends on the robust exchange of ideasan exchange that is best when the rich diversity of our perspectives, backgrounds, and experiences flourishes.
