OSAM is hiring a Quantitative Risk Analyst to join our Risk team. The successful candidate will be able to help our firm reduce and mitigate business, operational and investment risk through data analysis, process automation and project management. Candidates should be proficient in data analysis within SQL with a background or heavy exposure to a risk and/or audit team functions within financial services, preferably investment management. Experience in Python and C# is a plus.
What are the responsibilities of the Risk Team?The Risk Team is focused on identifying, reducing, and mitigating business, operational and investment risk. The guiding philosophy of the firm is Learn, Build, Share, Repeat. The risk team is dedicated to this evolutionary cycle.
What are the responsibilities of the Quantitative Risk Analyst?Work independently or as part of a small team to research and implement solutions to reduce business, operational or investment risk. Once a risk is identified and mitigated, develop and monitor automated reporting. Initial projects may include:
Client Investment Monitoring - Tracking Error & Tax Audit - Track and audit how well we are doing for our clients at delivering the lowest possible tracking error relative to associated benchmarks as well as taking into account our clients tax goals this process would start off adhoc and eventual become systematic
Data Oversight - Automate data reconciliation and as issues arise hand off the issues to key members of OSAM and monitor the issue until resolution data arenas include: Security, Vendor, Custody, Internal
Develop and monitor key risk metrics using automated tools and visualization software (SQL, PowerBI, Python, C#)
Help to optimize and eliminate manual functions through use of workflow documentation and proposing solutions to technology for implementation with a focus on risk & speed of execution
When a new wokflow is finalized document new procedures & related supervisory procedures
Issue Management - document and regularly follow up with key issues raised by the risk team or anyone at OSAM
Document Policies and Procedures based on FT home office and central Enterprise Risk Management Team guidance
Candidates will have demonstrated an ability to generate ideas and see them executed, knowing how to prioritize and work collaboratively.Candidates should be proficient in SQL with a background or heavy exposure to a risk and/or audit team functions within financial services, preferably investment management.
5-10 years' relevant experience in financial services, preferably investment management
Strong background in data analysis and SQL and strong knowledge of relational data structures
Experience or heavy exposure to risk and/or audit team function within financial services
Experience in Python and C# is a plus
Practical experience in computational methods like optimization is a plus
Visualization experience is a plus (PowerBI, Tableau, etc.)
Ability to communicate effectively
Ability to work in the US without requiring current or future sponsorship; we are unable to provide sponsorship or visa support for this position
Along with base compensation, other compensation is offered such as a discretionary bonus, 401k plan, health insurance, and other perks. There are several factors taken into consideration in making compensation decisions including but not limited to location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. At Franklin Templeton, we apply a total reward philosophy where all aspects of compensation and benefits are taken into consideration in determining compensation. We expect the base salary for this position to range between $122,000 - $145,000.
