What are the responsibilities and job description for the Security Shift Leader position at Frederick Health Hospital, Inc.?
- Assists a Supervisor/Manager with responsibility for the day-to-day operations; absent a Supervisor will lead shift, responsible for the shift personnel and operations. As needed, incumbent may also be placed in this role by the Department Director to assist with supervision of the shift staff and shift operations.
- Assists in the assignment of personnel to their daily scheduled duties; reviews all pass-downs, logs, journals, forms and reports since last tour of duty to ensure continuity of services and provide appropriate follow up; monitors line staff performance ensuring adherence to Department/Hospital policies and procedures; ensures Department philosophy and expectations for customer service are met; ensures adequate coverage for the next shift and special details.
- Notifies Department/Hospital Supervisor, Manager, Director of any special occurrences (i.e. any failure of persons, equipment, policy, procedure disruptive to normal business or having potential for negative consequence or publicity).
- Actively participates in Department committees, projects and initiatives.
- If assigned, serves as a Field Training Officer (FTO), orienting and training new department staff.
- If assigned, conducts initial and/or in-service training of personnel and promotes their growth and development. Documents personnel training records and tracks completion, certification, re-certification and general compliance standards are updated as needed.
