CNC Grinder

The individual will set up CNC Grinder and a variety of manual grinding machines, and process products to specifications as part of a precision machining group assuring that the products meet customer requirements. As needed, performs support machining functions to other areas as requested by Production Lead or Supervisor. This position is a significant component of the company’s quality system.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

· Know and understand specification criteria prior to performing machining functions.

· Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints and work to drawings, specifications and established procedures.

· Basic comprehension and understanding of shop mathematics and the ability to work between English and metric units of measurements.

· Read and understand blueprint and work instructions to determine procedure for machining product.

· Understand and perform set-ups and tear-downs for all department machines.

· Operate equipment according to training and/or equipment specifications.

· Machine parts per work instructions/customer specifications.

· Inspect each part per specifications and/or client’s quality requirements.

· Properly handle material machined and maintain machines operated to assure consistency of product.

· Complete associated paperwork timely and accurately.

· Develop and maintain job proficiency, keep technical skills and knowledge up to date.

· Carry out special projects and all other appropriate and reasonable duties that may be assigned from time to time.

· Perform all work-related tasks in a safe manner and report any unsafe conditions to management.

· Use measurement tools such as calipers and micrometers.

· Troubleshoots mechanical devices and performs autonomous maintenance and PM’s on department equipment.

· Provides basic operations support in areas not directly associated with this category (for which adequate training has been provided and direction given, such as Ultrasonic Impact Grinding.)

· Follow all company safety policies.

Qualifications:

· Minimum requirement is a High School Diploma or G.E.D.

· Three years of relevant experience

· Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions and apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed but uninvolved written or oral instructions

· Ability to effectively use a variety of common inspection tools as required by project tasks, to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals or technical procedures, and to write reports and basic procedure manuals.

· Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from managers.

· Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume, to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry, and to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions and to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several concrete variables.

· Blanchard Grinding experience a plus, but not required.
