The primary role of the Mortgage Manager is to provide management by directing and coordinating the overall operations of the mortgage department. Mortgage Managers will originate, analyze, interview loan applications, and approve loan requests, evaluate market trends to establish competitive rates, and work with third party vendors for sale and servicing of mortgage portfolio or products. Responsibilities include creating training material, develop policy manuals, coaching and counseling staff, attend and present seminars on mortgage related issues, supervision of staff and activities, reviewing compliance issues, and explaining the available loan programs and requirements. This position will have the possibility of hybrid working on a part-time basis after initial training is completed. The Mortgage Manager will need to be able to work from the office 2-3 days per week. The days will be determined depending on scheduling. This position complies with all federal, state, and organizational policies, procedures, and processes, including (but not limited to) the Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), and Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC). Maintains confidentiality of current, past, and potential members and their personal and financial information.
Requirements:
High school diploma or GED. College Degree Desired.
Three-Five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Must meet the requirements of the S.A.F.E. Act and register annually in the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System and Registry (NMLS).
Excellent oral and written communication skills, including excellent active listening skills.
Knowledge of laws, legal codes, court procedures, government and mortgage regulations.
Knowledge of management and business principles.
Ability to read and comprehend instruction, correspondence, and memos.
