We’re Freedom Forever, a Solar company known for quality and innovation, and we’re hiring an experienced carpenter/handyman to join our structural service team!
Working with the Production Manager, you’ll use your carpentry and general handyman skills to complete service calls throughout your assigned geography.
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
- Repair stucco, siding, drywall, soffit damage, and roof leaks
- Complete minor solar electrical work on solar components
- Perform rivet placards, dig trenches, repair roofs and/or ground mounts
- Notate any issues that require correcting and notify the Production Manager
- Service, add, or remove solar panel systems when necessary
- Review job site pictures and gather all necessary parts to ensure inspection successfully passes Perform onsite pre-inspection prior to the arrival of the inspector
- Open electrical panels and/or junction boxes for easy access and inspector’s visibility
- Set up and tie off ladders for the city/county inspectors
- Maintain company vehicles serviced and stocked with necessary materials
- Ensure a safe working environment with adherence to and enforcement of company and industry safety standards
- Identify gaps and risks in safety standards and make recommendations to management
- Ensure tasks are performed according to organizational requirements for quality management and environmental, health and safety standards, policies, and procedures
- Perform other duties as assigned
Desired Qualifications:
- At least 2 years’ experience in roofing/carpentry/handyman work
- Skilled using power and hand tools
- Reliable; arrive on time and do your best work every day
- Ability to work well in a team environment
- Maintain clean and safe work areas
- Familiarity with electrical plans and field layouts
- Strong analytical and creative problem-solving skills
- Self-motivated with an attention to productivity, detail, and safety
- Able to work safely at heights, on ladders, and in confined areas
- Physically able to stand, sit, bend, twist, climb, see, hear, frequently lift, push, or pull 50-70 pounds, and use hands to perform work
- Able to read and understand plans
- High School Graduate or GED
