The Construction Specialist I is an introductory role to the Construction Specialist II and III. After a project has been reviewed, there are a number of loose ends that can prevent forward movement with accurate information. The Construction Specialist I follows up diligently with Project Managers, Dealers, internal departments and subcontractors to add accurate information to a project’s Scope of Work. The Construction Specialist I works closely with the other Construction Specialists to improve his or her own knowledge in Solar Construction, with the goal of moving into the Construction Specialist II role.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate independent judgement and knowledge of solar construction including roofing, electrical, and ground mounted installations.
  • Excel at problem solving and identifying solutions to lower job costs and create buildable jobs for all branches.
  • Assist in Pipeline Management and organizing by running reports and providing feedback as assigned. 
  • Create Statements of Work for Sales and Operations Team through the exercise of discretion and independent judgment.  
  • Create RFQ’s for Project Managers to request quotes from Subcontractors
  • Update Freedom Databases (Authority Having Jurisdictions & Utilities) 
  • Be comfortable completing research online and via phone for solar projects 
  • Coordinate with Headquarters & Branch departments on a daily basis
  • Identify and compile issues with respect to significant matters and present them to Management in an articulated manner for resolution
  • Work closely with Construction Specialists II and III to resolve issues on projects and keep the pipeline flowing for all branch offices.
  • Act as a main point of contact for the Construction team to assist with project and branch related issues during and outside of normal business hours. 
  • Other duties as assigned 

Qualification Requirements:

  • Must have proven high skill level to interpret blueprints and other project documents, including but not limited to, specifications, reporting and quality requirements.
  • Must know how to handle problems quickly and efficiently.
  • Must be very organized and have great communication skills.
  • Ability to demonstrate computer skills 
  • 1+ Years in Construction / Solar with an emphasis on Project Management.
  • Demonstrated ability to solve complicated electrical and construction issues.

  • Frequently bend to file and maintain files
  • Occasionally lift 5-10 pounds
