What are the responsibilities and job description for the Quality Manager position at FreeFlight Systems?
SUMMARY:
As our Quality Manager you will oversee 3 inspectors and 1 quality engineer in an Aerospace Avionics Company. You will be responsible for the quality management systems under AS9100, CFR 14 part 145, and FAA Part 21 standards. We are already AS9100D, part 21, and Part145 Certified.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop, review and update QMS procedures and internal work instructions
- Participate in the supplier evaluation process and supplier performance management
- Train new employees on QMS requirements and inspection plans
- Schedule, maintain and conduct Internal Audits to support QMS
- Participates in the Material Review Board, Corrective Action Board, and Engineering Change Control Board
- Drive root cause analysis for corrective action process, implement corrective action, and verify effectiveness of corrective action
- Monitor In-Process inspection, First Piece Inspection and First Article Inspection
- Coordinate Organizational Performance metrics and Quality Objectives
- Document, track, and report performance metrics to top management
- Review and approve Engineering Changes, Work Instructions prior to releasing to production
- Participate in Management Review Meetings
- Participate in the supplier selection and approval process.
- Participate in production initiatives and have hands-on knowledge for improvement efforts
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- 2 years of Experience as a Quality Manager or equivalent.
- In depth understanding of AS9100/ISO9001 Standards
- Strong familiarity with Part 21 and Part 145

The applicant must be able to read, write, and understand English fluently. Qualified candidates should be able to speak effectively to customers about company products and how they perform. The applicant must possess the ability to write routine reports, correspondences, procedures, and work instructions.
OTHER KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Candidates must have a strong command of computer desktop tools such as MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook) to assist in completing essential duties. Effectively demonstrates strong written and verbal communication skills. Syteline experience is preferred but not required.
