Summary
Proper support for CAD and DCC applications is vital to the Design organization. The users work daily in AutoCAD, Vault, 3ds Max, Sketchup, and Adobe CC apps. Keeping the user’s software toolsets working efficiently will be the primary responsibility of the Application Support Specialist.
The Application Support Specialist will work closely with users in the Design organization to troubleshoot issues and fix problems that arise day-to-day. This role will work closely with functional leads in design, evaluate system issues, and determine the root cause. The Support Specialist will also maintain the Design software library, ensuring that current software releases are documented and available, deprecated releases are appropriately archived, and new releases are evaluated/tested before being integrated into the Freeman Design toolkit.
This position will support our Design Enablement team and is eligible to work a remote schedule.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Support Design end user issues with CAD and DCC applications
Escalate software issues to IT as necessary
Document installation procedures for software packages
Maintain Design software library
Support users in other departments as necessary
Evaluate and test new software releases
Report bugs and issues to internal development and third parties
Education & Experience
REQUIRED
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, Product Design, or equivalent experience.
Minimum 3 years experience supporting CAD and DCC applications
Experience supporting users in Architecture, Construction or Manufacturing
Ability to proactively solve problems and address conflict
Knowledge of Autodesk and DCC applications (AutoCAD, 3ds Max, Adobe CC, Sketchup, etc)
Good written and verbal communication skills
Excellent troubleshooting skills
PREFERRED
Advanced degree in a technical field
Experience as a Systems Engineer
MCSE or MCSA certification
Experience working with remote and outsourced teams
