Paralegal

Freeman Mathis and Gary, LLP is a rapidly growing, national specialty litigation law firm and we are currently seeking an experienced paralegal to join our team in our Philadelphia office. Flexibility and excellent organization skills are key in our fast-paced environment. This is a 100% in office position and remote work is not available. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assist attorneys with the preparation of a civil case throughout discovery and prepare for, attend and assist at trial
• Be familiar with and understand medical terminology
• Perform medical record reviews and prepare detailed medical chronologies
• Prepare deposition summaries
• Prepare subpoenas and non-party requests in both State and Federal Courts
• Prepare discovery requests to parties
• Organized and proficient at records management and tracking responses
• Ability to summarize medical and employment records and prepare summaries
• Prepare meet and confer correspondence
• Proficient in software programs such as Microsoft Word, PowerPoint and Excel
• Ability to organize and prioritize numerous tasks and complete them under time constraints with minimal supervision and exceptional attention to detail

Qualifications and Experience:

• 3 years paralegal experience in a law firm
• Civil litigation experience required
• Experience with medical cases
• Familiarity with performing research tasks using web-based legal research services
• Experience working with paperless files. iManage experience a plus
• Must successfully pass a background/drug screen
• Nurse Paralegal or Nursing degree a plus

Required Education

Bachelor’s degree and paralegal certificate from ABA approved program required.
