In addition to its partnership with bp pulse, FreeWire and ampm, a bp subsidiary and convenience store chain with over 1,000 locations, have already deployed multiple public charging stations in the U.S. FreeWire’s regulatory affairs and policy team keeps customers up to date on federal, state, and utility incentive opportunities, which in some cases cover up to 80% of the cost of the charging station, and the company recently announced that the Boost Charger is Buy America compliant. Data Scientist

FreeWire Technologies has an exciting opportunity to join the Product Management team and help guide the long-term strategy of the company. FreeWire is growing rapidly to scale the manufacturing and development of the Boost Charger and is poised to expand its product offerings beyond DC Fast Charging to traditional stationary energy storage, grid services, and micro-grids. This role will be instrumental in defining the product strategy and implementation of FreeWire’s next generation of offerings.

Responsibilities:

• Develop tools tailored to FreeWire’s products to quantify the value proposition of new products and new product features, including grid services
• Develop historical database of market opportunities for energy and grid services across US, Canada and priority international markets
• Forecast future values from opportunities such as wholesale energy market and utility retail program participation
• Identify, source and ingest necessary data sources to support both energy / grid services and EV charging
• Build tools to automate sales and marketing efforts to build proposals and support the business case of purchasing FreeWire’s products and services

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, Business Analytics or business-related field
• Master’s degree is a plus
• 3-5 years of professional experience in a Data Analyst, Data Scientist or other relevant role
• Documented experience using modern analysis tools and programming languages including, but not limited to: SQL, Python, R, etc.
• Previous experience in energy / renewable energy / eMobility is a big plus
• Must be a good story-teller and able to communicate clearly to non-technical audiences
• Self-starter, willing to take initiative and go find the answers/data needed
• A team player with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally across the organization
• Excited to work in a start-up environment
• Ability to effectively plan and organize projects and manage priorities
• Comfortable using Microsoft Office, Google Suite, etc.
