Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Machinist to join our team. The ideal candidate will have experience operating and maintaining various types of machinery to produce precision parts and tools. The Machinist will work from 2D blueprints to create high-quality components that meet specifications.
Responsibilities:
- Operate machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, and grinders to produce metal parts.
- Read and interpret blueprints to understand the specifications of the parts to be produced.
- Set up, adjust, and maintain all machine tools and equipment
- Measure and examine completed parts to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications, using precision instruments such as micrometers and calipers.
- Perform routine maintenance on machines and equipment.
- Monitor the feed and speed of machines during the machining process.
- Troubleshoot issues that arise during the machining process and make necessary adjustments.
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to safety protocols and regulations.
- Collaborate with engineers and other team members to optimize production processes.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical degree or certification in machining or related field is preferred but not required.
- Proven experience as a machinist or in a similar role but not required.
- Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints.
- Strong knowledge of machine tools and equipment, including lathes, milling machines, and grinders.
- Excellent attention to detail and precision in work.
- Ability to use precision measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
- Strong problem-solving skills and mechanical aptitude.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Good communication and organizational skills.
- Willingness to learn.
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift and move heavy objects, up to 50 lbs.
- Prolonged periods of standing and working on machinery.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $22.50 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 36 – 40 per week
