Description
Freres Engineered Wood is a dynamic forest products manufacturer that’s revolutionizing the mass timber market with its newly patented Mass Ply Panel (MPP) product. We are seeking an Accountant to join our team and assist us in taking the Company to the next level.
The Senior Accountant reports to the Accounting Manager and assists in maintaining and reconciling balance sheets and ledger accounts, preparing financial analyses and reports, collaborating with various internal departments.
Essential Functions -
- Assist Accounting Manager in month-end closing process
- Perform monthly GL account reconciliations
- Provide assistance to production managers, supervisors and sales staff related to the company ERP system as needed
- Prepare and file various tax returns
- Work closely with Accounting Manager to identify and implement process improvements
- Assist in training and helping accounting staff in a manner that promotes a strong, positive team environment
- Backup other accounting positions as needed
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting
- 5 years accounting and/or manufacturing experience preferred
- Experience with ERP systems and/or Microsoft Dynamics GP preferred
- Team oriented
- Ability to grasp concepts quickly
- Experience with Microsoft Office 365 including strong Excel skills
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Ability to organize, plan and prioritize work to complete tasks within required time frames
- Excellent communication skills in person, over the phone and via email
- This position requires in- person attendance to better communicate and coordinate with office and manufacturing personnel
