Job Summary The Receiver is responsible for receipt of inbound shipments into the facility and recording the materials into SAP and/or the Warehouse Control System. The Receiver reports to a designated Supervisor. Responsibilities Checks in drivers, checks Bill of Lading(s) (BOL), checks truck seals to ensure they are correct and intact and assigns dock doors. Inspects truck/container for the condition of temperature and cleanliness and reports any abnormality to management Authenticates BOLs and matches packing slips to assure the delivery is accurate. Organizes the dock and prepares for inbound shipments. Unloads materials from the trailer or container using powered industrial trucks. Performs slip sheeting activities as needed Sorts materials by product codes and lot numbers during unloading. Inspects product for any shortage, damage or tampering and reports any discrepancy to management. Confirms and Compares all identifying information and counts items of incoming shipments to verify information against BOL, packing lists, invoices, orders, or other records. Verifies and files records of all shipping documentation at the time of delivery and receipt. Communicates with internal and external departments regarding the accuracy of the shipments and shipping documentation. Inputs receipts into SAP, utilizing both RF Scanning devices and desktop or laptop terminals. Puts away materials after receipts are completed using powered industrial trucks. Other tasks and duties as assigned. REQUIREMENTS High School Diploma or GED 1-3 years’ experience in a warehouse role with working knowledge of all functional areas of the warehouse is preferred. Some SAP (or equivalent systems) knowledge and RF Scanning is preferred; ability to learn these systems quickly is required. Knowledge of Microsoft Office products with spreadsheet applications (Excel) skills is a plus. Solid mathematical and reading skills. Effective problem-solving skills including demonstrated use of sound judgment, good organizational skills, time-management skills and the ability to work in a team-oriented environment. High level of attention to detail. Must be able to work in a fast-paced, deadline-orientated environment. Capable of learning and being proficient on Powered Industrial Truck (PIT), including, but not limited to, walkie-riders, cherry pickers, deep reaches, and sit-down forklifts.
