Job Summary
This position will serve as the lead in formulating and executing the strategic direction of the Automated Plasma global business. Acting as a liaison between the Regional product management teams and the Research & Development team, the position will utilize their background and experience within a Plasma environment to identify trends and unmet needs; which will be translated into customer requirements that may take the form of NPD (new product development) and/or LCM (life cycle management) of existing products.
This position is located in our Lake Zurich, IL office.
Responsibilities
- Immersion into the experience of a Plasma environment where customer requirements and unmet needs can be translated into product development efforts.
- Anticipate and identify industry and competitive trends in the Plasma market and use this information to develop long range plans that incorporate multi-year NPD projects that assist the company in meeting its long-term goals and short-term project plans (LCM) that will assist the commercial teams meet short and mid-range committed budgets
- Ensure successful launches of NPD or LCM projects by creating and communicating Global Launch Plans including key product strategies, segmentation, pricing, launch, and managing the “Go To Market” launch process for all NPD and LCM efforts
- Chair or facilitate a cross-functional team that includes regional marketing, regulatory, R&D, clinical, and quality to identify and prioritize product management and new product development activities
- Serve as the communication “link” between regional marketing and R&D, collaborating with regional marketing to understand regional market trends, obtain voice of customer (VOC), and then incorporating into strategic discussions with R&D; communicates R&D timelines and updates to regions to ensure transparency and to help with regional sales planning
- Develop resources tools and materials to support general efforts including: utilization of external agencies to develop and execute research, promotional materials; creation of financial models/business case to support strategic projects; develop key relationships with regional, BU, MU and executive leadership
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
- 5-10 years of medical device experience
- Ability to manage multiple projects with conflicting priorities while maintaining timelines
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to understand and communicate technical information and clinical concepts
- Proficient presentation skills to convey technical information to large groups
- Proficient computer skills (including Microsoft Office, e-mail, PowerPoint and spreadsheet analysis)
- Proven experience in building relationships and managing priorities
- Ability to travel internationally 5%
