FYI is a dynamic community-based organization that envisions immigrant and first-generation youth as healthy, successful, lifelong learners. Founded in 1993, FYI operates programs at five sites in Washington Heights/Inwood where 1,300 children in grades Pre-K to 12 participate in afterschool, weekend, and summer programs annually. Using a positive youth development model, FYI provides holistic, culturally responsive programming, including educational, social-emotional, service-learning, college and career access, and mental health services to youth as well as mental health and social services support to their families. With an annual budget of $4.3M and 70 staff members, FYI is continuing its growth trajectory to meet the needs of youth and families in the community. JOB DESCRIPTION

FYI is seeking a self-directed, detail-oriented professional to support the organization’s long-term sustainability. This full-time, in-person position reports to the Development Director and plays a key role in managing FYI’s portfolio of $2M in foundation, corporate, and individual revenue. A successful candidate will be a strong project manager, an effective fundraiser, and an adept communicator with diverse stakeholders. A commitment to FYI’s vision for and work with youth and families in a low-income, immigrant community is essential.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

· Work with the Development Director to plan and execute the development plan which includes donor engagement strategies, grants, and events.

· Prep staff for donor meetings and events, including coordinating scheduling, prospect research, and agenda setting.

· Develop and implement a small donor community-based giving program and increase our monthly donor sustainable giving campaign.

· Write and edit high-quality proposals, letters of inquiry, and other written materials for submission to private and government funders.

· Conduct prospect research; prepare materials for internal grant-preparation meetings.

· Prepare donor reports to help inform FYI’s development strategies and activities.

· Accurately maintain the grant calendar and donor database.

· Maintain well-organized records of all funding proposals, reports, and contracts.

· Ensure that standard grant attachments are up to date.

· Liaise with program staff throughout the funding cycle to ensure that all proposal and reporting deadlines are met.

· Coordinate funder site visits.

· Write donor acknowledgment letters and other funder correspondence.

· Writ and edit individual donor appeals, corporate sponsorship decks, and event invitations.

· Manage FYI’s corporate and individual donor engagement activities – approximately 12 per year – including internal coordination with program staff.

· Support planning and coordination of annual fundraising campaigns and events.

· Support the Development Director and Executive Director in engaging the Board, with a special focus on the Development Committee.

· Support the Executive Director administratively on specific tasks and projects.

· Other duties as assigned by supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIRED SKILLS

· Two to three years in a nonprofit development role.

· Clear, concise writing skills; ability to tailor language for various audiences across multiple communications channels.

· Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Office, G-Suite, and familiarity navigating various platforms and funding portals.

· Strong organizational and time management skills.

· Accuracy and attention to detail.

· Proactive and resourceful; calm under pressure; confident in seeking support when needed; effective team member.

· Bachelor's degree preferred.

COMPENSATION

Salary range $50,000 - $55,000 commensurate with skills and experience; excellent benefits including health, dental, and vision insurance; opportunity to opt into 401K; 21 vacation days per year with increase to 24 days after three years; ongoing professional development.ob Summary:

Duties:

- Create and maintain budgets for fundraising initiatives
- Plan and coordinate fundraising events, including logistics, marketing, and donor engagement
- Utilize digital marketing platforms to promote fundraising campaigns and engage with donors
- Maintain donor databases and ensure accurate record keeping
- Collaborate with internal teams to align fundraising efforts with organizational objectives
- Provide regular reports on fundraising progress to senior management

Skills:
- Proficient in using MailChimp or similar email marketing platforms
- Strong research skills to identify potential funding sources and market trends
- Experience in grant writing and managing the grant application process
- Knowledge of budgeting principles and ability to create and manage budgets effectively
- Event management experience, including planning, execution, and evaluation
- Familiarity with digital marketing strategies for fundraising campaigns
- Proficiency in Salesforce or similar CRM software for donor management
- Social media management skills to engage with donors and promote fundraising initiatives
- Excellent negotiation skills to secure sponsorships and partnerships
