Food Production Associate (Deli Slicer experience)

COVID-19 Vaccination Requirement

FreshDirect, in compliance with New York City law, is requiring that all employees working in any of our New York City locations be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, unless they are approved for a medical or religious accommodation. As a part of this process, you will be required to provide supporting documentation about the reason you cannot be vaccinated. If your request for an accommodation is not approved, then your employment will be terminated.

As of February 9th, you are required to be fully vaccinated for COVID-19 prior to your in-person interview and to provide proof of your vaccination status no later than the day of your interview. Failure to provide timely proof of your COVID-19 vaccination status will result in you being placed on an unpaid leave of absence and potential termination of employment from FreshDirect.

The primary responsibilities of the Deli Slicer Assistant is slicing and packing of the product for customer orders in the Deli department.

Responsibilities:

• Slicing various meats and cheeses using a deli slicer.
• Understanding deli attributes and configurations.
• Confirming production orders and printings labels.
• Product labeling for inventory purposes.
• Use of a scale and other various equipment.
• Slicer care and cleaning.
• Knife handling.
• Knowledge of Deli supplies.

Education and Qualifications:

• Must be able to work in a refrigerated environment of 38 degrees.
• Must be able to work a shift of 8 – 10 hours a day.
• Must be able to lift a maximum of 40lbs.
• Must be able to work Saturday, Sunday and holidays.
• Must have open availability during operational hours
• Must have excellent listening skills.
• Good verbal communication skills.
• Be able to work in a fast-paced environment.
• Must be able to stand for majority of your shift
• Must be able to perform twisting, turning and bending
• Preferably not have any allergies
• Ability to clearly communicate in English. Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus
• Must embody and demonstrate company values and culture
