COVID-19 Vaccination Requirement
FreshDirect, in compliance with New York City law, is requiring that all employees working in any of our New York City locations be fully vaccinated against COVID-19, unless they are approved for a medical or religious accommodation. As a part of this process, you will be required to provide supporting documentation about the reason you cannot be vaccinated. If your request for an accommodation is not approved, then your employment will be terminated.
If you are vaccinated, you are required to have received at least one COVID-19 vaccine dose prior to your first day of employment and to provide proof of your vaccination status no later than your first day of your employment. For the two COVID-19 shot regimens, you will be required to provide proof of your second COVID-19 shot within the first 45 days of the first dose. Failure to provide timely proof of your COVID-19 vaccination status will result in you being placed on an unpaid leave of absence and potential termination of employment from FreshDirect.
The Human Resources Compliance Coordinator is responsible for assisting with the pre-employment screening process from start to end after the recruiter has extended an offer of employment. This individual will assist with I-9, E-Verify, background checks, and other compliance related tasks. This role supports the HR Compliance Analyst and reports to the Senior Director of People Support.
Responsibilities
Preboarding
- Review all new hire screening results and supporting documentation for compliance.
- Update the Recruitment team and HR leadership with candidate status and hiring determinations.
- Distribute reports on status and candidate follow up.
- Prepare candidate communication on background results/decision (FCA/FCRA).
- Ensures compliance with standard onboarding practices and procedures.
- Attend seminars and education training to stay abreast on new legislation and compliance mandates.
I-9 Compliance
- Serve as the I-9 form and E-Verify system specialist, including monitoring and auditing forms across the organization.
- Track and conduct I-9 re-verification for current employees.
Other Responsibilities
- Support Legal with litigation and inquires related to pre-employment hiring determinations.
- Support Onboarding as needed with New Hire Orientation Tasks
- Support and partner with Human Resources teams on other tasks and projects as needed.
- Maintaining physical and electronic filing
- Clerical functions such as photocopies, mail, scan, and email
Education and Qualifications:
- 1 or more years of experience in Human Resources.
- High level of Customer Service, Professionalism, and integrity.
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and organization.
- Extremely organized with the ability to prioritize, multi-task, and exhibit proactive behavior
- A great communicator able to convey information in a clear, focused, concise, and engaging manner.
- Proficiency in Excel
- Competency with Outlook and Microsoft Office
