Responsibilities
- Develop raw materials, processes and products to support the business strategy including new product design or product/process enhancement.
- Define and execute projects using stage gate methodology.
- Provide support to commercial team and customers for implementation of new processes/products and customer issues.
- Establish process/product parameters (settings, properties and specifications).
- Define and implement methods to improve productivity, capacity and quality.
- Maintain awareness of new and/or alternate raw materials, processes, equipment, and competitive product development through continuous research using various electronic publications and industry networking opportunities.
- Travel 10% - 30% of the time
Qualifications
- Minimum four year college degree in engineering, Masters or higher preferred.
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in product development or manufacturing role with project management experience, preferably Stage Gate.
- Prior experience in melt spin/draw/winding fibers, spun-bonded nonwovens, and operation of major chemical process equipment desired.
- Ability to work independently in fast-paced environment and on multiple projects simultaneously, as well as, the ability to interface effectively with other functions
- Project management skills (stage-gate, time management, prioritization), well-developed analytical problem solving (root cause, 8D), applied scientific/engineering/math principles and experimentation techniques/principles (DOE)
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office software
