Seeking Experienced Pastry and Bread Baker

Freya Bakery is modern Scandinavian bakery that makes laminated dough pastries and several specialty artisan breads. Our desire is to create an above average experience for all senses and bring immaculate qualityof pastries and bread.

Freya Bakery is seeking a Seeking Experienced pastry baker and also a bread baker to join our dedicated team. You are passionate about baking, novel recipes, and attention to details. You will be working with the team to consistently produce our broad assortment of mainly laminated pastries with Scandinavian-inspired themes and several cakes and cookies. This position is a tremendous opportunity for an energetic professional as a valued member of a growing bakery business.

What is the Role:

• Responsible for driving production of existing recipes and baking standards with emphasis on high quality ingredients, taste, and visual presentation

• Manage and operate kitchen equipment safely and efficiently

• Ensure high sanitary and safety standards

• Maintain organized and clean working area

Who you are:

• You have a prior baking experience from established commercial baking venues

• Experience with laminated dough

• Knowledge of all steps of the baking process within measuring, mixing, shaping, proofing, and baking

• Culinary degree is a plus but not mandatory

• You are passionate and excited about baking, maintaining baking standards, and details

• You are a dedicated team player with an ability to work independently

• You are diligent, punctual, and reliable to work within mutually agreed flexible work schedules

• You are eager to grow and advance your career and become a valued member of the company on a long-term horizon

The location of this role is in the vibrant Pike Place Market. The role requires standing most of the workday, lifting 50lbs, operating bakery equipment. You also must have a valid Food Handler’s card.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00 - $24.00 per hour

Schedule:

• Day shift
• Overnight shift
• Weekend availability

Ability to commute/relocate:

• Seattle, WA 98101: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Preferred)
