Friends of Willow Tree is seeking a Class Teacher for the 2023-2024 academic year.

Friends of Willow Tree is an enrichment center that offers a curriculum inspired by Waldorf methods to students in grades Kindergarten through 8th. We have an active parent body, a supportive board of directors, and a committed faculty.

LOCATION

Our community will welcome you to our friendly village in North County San Diego. The town of Fallbrook has a lovely Waldorf community, biodynamic farms, study groups, and close proximity to WISC (Waldorf Institute of Southern California). Our program serves a diverse population that might not otherwise have access to a curriculum inspired by Waldorf methods.

JOB DESCRIPTION

We are seeking an experienced and caring teacher for a small, combined grade 7/8 class, who possesses a LOVE for middle school students and an enthusiasm for the Waldorf curriculum.

Our goal is to help develop a strong community that is supportive of a developmentally appropriate method of education.

Our Middle School Class teacher carries the primary responsibility for teaching all subjects of the Middle School curriculum and needs to have a strong ability to work well with parents and colleagues. Our teachers deliver developmentally appropriate instruction rich with music, movement, and art as well as skill development in academic areas.

As an enrichment program, we work with families who are homeschooling and are either enrolled with an independent study charter or have filed their own Private School Affidavit (PSA).

We look to our teachers to lead not only the children but also the parents in their education. Our teacher’s goal is to help develop a strong community around our community that supports a developmentally appropriate education method.

QUALIFICATIONS

~ Bachelor’s Degree
