What are the responsibilities and job description for the Office Assistant position at Front End?
Education, Training, and Experience: High school diploma or GED; supplemented by a minimum of one (1) year experience in office support functions, to include direct customer contact, Microsoft Office proficiency, and excellent written and verbal communication. Must pass Florida 4-H UF/IFAS Extension level II background screening to work with 4-H youth. Experience working with youth in 4-H or other youth programs is preferred.
Licenses and/or Certifications: Requires a valid driver license.
Physical Requirements: Must be physically able to operate a variety of machines and equipment including computer, office equipment, telephone, facsimile, copier, and automobile. Must be able to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or a 20 pounds frequently to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Requires bending, twisting, and stooping. Physical demands are those of sedentary work.
Language Ability: Requires ability to read Standard English, as well as technical data, policy and procedure manuals, codes, etc., ranging from moderately complex to highly technical terminology. Requires the ability to prepare forms and reports using prescribed formats, and adhering to all rules of spelling, grammar, punctuation, diction, and style. Requires the ability to communicate effectively in Standard English. Requires the ability to professionally communicate with a broad array of individuals from various professional backgrounds.
Intelligence: Requires the ability to apply principles of logical and scientific thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions; to interpret a variety of instructions in written and oral form; to make independent judgments in absence of supervision; to acquire knowledge of topics related to primary occupation.
Numerical Aptitude: Requires the ability to add and subtract totals, multiply and divide, use decimals and determine percentages; interpret graphs; compute ratio and proportion.
Interpersonal Temperament: Requires the ability to deal with people beyond receiving instructions. Must be adaptable to performing under stress when confronted with frequent deadlines or peak workloads. Requires the ability to exercise consistent tact and courtesy when in frequent contact with various professionals, county staff, and the general public.
