The candidate must demonstrate a willingness to work during all shifts, including weekends and holidays.JOB SUMMARYThis position oversees and manages operations of the security department for the facility.
Directs security personnel performing security services for the front porch community. Protects staff and residents from and responds to fire, theft, vandalism and illegal entry.
Maintains an effective security operation by performing the following duties.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSIncludes the following. Other duties may be assigned as necessary.
- Provides quality Customer Service efficiently to residents, families, co-workers and vendors in a manner to ensure satisfaction.
- Supervises and coordinates activities of security staff, including training and scheduling.* Provides security services for residents and employees of the organization.
Protects from and responds to fire, theft, vandalism, and illegal entry by performing security duties as required.* Responsible for the proper implementation of all security policies.
- Assists in recruiting, hiring, training, developing, evaluating and terminating staff for the security department.* Confers with representatives of management to formulate and enforce policies.
- Observes workers in performance of duties to evaluate efficiency and to detect and correct inefficient work practices.* Participates in the budgetary and planning process as required.
Ensures compliance with all Federal and State regulations and laws within the department.* Reviews financial transactions and monitors budget to ensure efficient operation, and to ensure expenditures stay within budget limitations.
Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws which may include directly or indirectly supervise security guard staff;
training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
- Follows and ensures department safety standards, practice body mechanic techniques and participate in campus-wide safety programs.
Complies with all department and facilities policies and procedures.JOB REQUIREMENTS and QUALIFICATIONSTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

- 1-year certificate from college or technical school; or 3-6 months related experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Current First Aid / CPR proficiency certificate; valid driver's license and a current DVM print-out meeting company driving standards to be an authorized driver of company vehicles.
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals;
ability to write routine reports and correspondence; ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
- Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
- Ability to analyze situations and present observations and recommendations to supervisor and other staff; ability to apply commonsense understanding to carry out instructions in written, oral, or diagram form;
