What are the responsibilities and job description for the Transportation Coordinator position at FRONT PORCH?
Under the supervision of the Director of Resident Services, the Transportation Coordinator oversees and coordinates activities of the facility transportation department. Performs driver duties necessary to meet resident transportation needs.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Includes the following, other duties may be assigned as necessary:
- Responsible for keeping fleet vehicles maintained and in good repair.
- Maintains current service records of all vehicles in the fleet. Keeps records pertaining to daily inspections, routing, CHP inspections and mileage computations.
- Negotiates service needs with vendors to purchase equipment, materials and supplies as requested by Director of Transportation.
- Confers and cooperates with Director of Resident Services and other management personnel in formulating administrative and operational policies and procedures.
- Reports on expenditures, ancillary incomes, and vehicle operations to Director of Transportation for analysis and review. Prepares billing statement to charge residents for services when applicable.
- Assists the Director of Resident Services in developing in-service meetings, and other duties as assigned.
- Assists in coordinating transportation functions for Activities and other special events. Demonstrates tack in working with all personnel and customers.
- Also performs transportation duties of Driver II on a regular basis.
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization’s policies and applicable laws which may include directly or indirectly supervise 2 or more Driver II personnel, hire and train employees, planning and assigning drives, scheduling and directing work, addressing complaints and resolving problems.
- Follows department safety standards, practice body mechanic techniques and participate in campus-wide safety programs.
JOB REQUIREMENTS and QUALIFICATIONS

- Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from 4-year college or university; or 1-2 years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must possess a valid Commercial Class B California driver's license including passenger endorsement and valid medical certificate. Driving record must meet approval of Front Porch insurance requirement. Enrolled in Mandatory Commercial Drivers random drug testing program. California DMV Pull notice program.
- Ability to do basic mathematics and problem-solving when supporting billing and accounts payable tasks for Transportation department
- Fully vaccinated for COVID-19, strongly preferred.
- Must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move above 50 pounds with the assistance from a co-worker and/or mechanical means.
- Fluent English communication skills, required.

A driver with a current Commercial B license who can work Monday -Friday 8:00am - 4:30pm. The ideal candidate will have some flexibility around their availability. Pay range is $21.00 to $22.00 an hour, depending on experience.
