The Engineering Aide I performs operational tests on highly complex electronic developmental and production components, subassemblies and systems involving a thorough working knowledge of introductory theory, instrumentation, measurement techniques and electronic circuit analysis. Performs the set-up, calibration, testing and troubleshooting of circuits, components, instruments and mechanical assemblies. Determines and may develop test specifications, methods and procedures from blueprints, drawings and diagrams. Tests and troubleshoots assemblies and/or final systems. May complete rework on assemblies and/or systems as a result of testing. Prepares technical reports, summarizes findings and recommends solutions to technical problems. May assist in the selection and set-up of specialized test equipment.
Responsibilities
- Determines, sets up and operates a wide variety of standard test stands consisting of multiples of generators, oscilloscopes, amplifiers, etc. and complex test equipment especially connected and set up for tests on highly complex subassemblies and systems in accordance with available instructions and specifications.
- Complies with standard test procedures and specifications to perform tests on highly complex electronic developmental and production components, subassemblies and systems.
- Verifies and analyzes test results. Troubleshoots, repairs and adjusts equipment so that their performance complies with test requirements, and that the quality of the product is assured. Determines when rework is necessary to ensure product compliance with specifications.
- Recommends changes in test procedures and specifications that will contribute to the improvement of testing efficiency and capabilities.
- Works from a variety of documents including test specifications, wiring diagrams, schematics, etc. where complete.
Qualifications
Minimum:
- High School Diploma/GED in addition to technical certification
- Must be US Citizen due to Government Contracts
Preferred:
- Associates Degree or Technical Degree in Electrical Technology
- Military Electronic Schools or equivalent electronic training
- Security Clearance or willingness to undergo security clearance screening
- Experience in defense or aerospace industry
- 1 years experience in electronics in a manufacturing environment or in the military.
- Experience tuning RF circuits
- Should be able to setup and know how to operate a Phase Network Analyzer (PNA) or Vector Network Analyzer (VNA).
This is an on-site position.
Salary Range: $20.86/hour - $24.00/hour. Applicable pay within the posted range may vary based on factors including, but not limited to, geographical location, job function of the position, education, and experience of the successful candidate.
