POSITION SUMMARY
Join Frontier Door and Cabinet, the premier manufacturer of Doors, Millwork, Cabinets, and Hardware in the Pacific Northwest, as an Assistant Buyer. Operating from our state-of-the-art 100,000 square foot facility in Tacoma, WA, we offer fully customizable solutions driven by project needs and expert design teams. We are experiencing remarkable growth and are seeking an energetic, proactive Assistant Buyer to contribute to our success.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Perform vendor research and selection to optimize profitability, reduce operating costs, and enhance efficiency.
· Manage purchase orders, shipping schedules, and purchase records, ensuring accuracy and timely delivery of materials.
· Collaborate with warehouse staff to compare deliveries with purchase orders, identifying and resolving discrepancies promptly.
· Conduct ongoing market research to identify advantageous purchase agreements and potential vendors.
· Assist Buyers in creating and improving vendor management processes, including compliance requirements related to purchasing and inventory control.
· Coordinate small, quick-turn projects and provide administrative support as needed.
EXPERIENCE AND EDUCATION
· High School Diploma or GED.
· Minimum of 1 year experience in an administrative role.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
· Proficient in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
· Excellent communication and administrative skills.
· Exceptional organization and time management skills, with the ability to track multiple priorities effectively.
· Demonstrated commitment to meeting deadlines and delivering high-quality work.
· Passion for customer and company satisfaction, with a professional demeanor at all times.
· Ability to exercise good judgment and maintain regular attendance.

This role operates primarily in a professional office environment within Frontier Door and Cabinet's Tacoma, WA facilities. SAFETY EQUIPMENT: Frontier Door and Cabinet’s Safety Program and all established safety rules must be followed, and equipment used where required. This will include safety glasses, safety shoes, and hearing protection (when needed) while on the production floor.
Given the office-based nature of this position, specific safety equipment requirements are minimal. However, standard office safety protocols and ergonomic practices should be followed to ensure a comfortable and safe working environment.
