Job Description
An Additive Manufacturing Manager will focus on operations of the 3D printing lab, tracking part production, fixing machine issues, communicating with requesters and the internal tech team and documenting processes of various production workstreams in the lab.
Core Responsibilities:
· Maintain and optimize operations of 3d printing systems on site
· Coordinate technical resources to address any issues that arise with printing systems
· Provide visibility of internal project processes and communicate to stakeholders
· Track and update print requesters on progress and issues
· Coordinate and communicate process handoffs internally to support teams
· Track work with external vendors and support logistics to deliver prototypes
· Maintain inventory and material tracking and ordering for 3DP lab
Stretch Responsibilities:
· Develop internal technical processes to accelerate fabrication
· Identify gaps in process and implement systems to fix them
· Scope and connect with vendors to provide missing services
· Identify new technologies to bring into the lab and drive their implementation
Requirements
- Knowledge of 3D printing systems fundamentals and hands on experience with 3D printing systems
- Basic knowledge of prototype to product development process
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of safely operating in a bench lab environment
- G Suite ability (gmail, sheets, docs)
- Deeply collaborative and committed to building teams and training others
- Fully Vaccinated for COVID19 and able to work on site
Nice to haves:
- Experience high volume 3D printing and prototyping
- Experience with commercial scale SLA,SLS, FDM, PolyJet, or other 3D printing systems
- CAD experience
- Experience with EHS and lab safety operations documentation
- ECAD/EE background familiarity
Key Deliverables:
· Coordinate with team and provide summary of lab status at team meetings
· Maintain 3D print part schedule (kick off ready parts)
· Track and maintain print data
· Maintain operational status of lab machines
