GENERAL SUMMARY

The Information Services (IS) Project Manager will be responsible for managing the portfolio of projects and incoming requests. Project manager will assist IS department leadership to ensure that assigned projects and changes are aligned with priorities, strategy, commitments and goals of the organization. This person will also be responsible for project intake and initial scoping. The IS Project Manager will assure that project status and assignments are reported to the Executive Sponsors and Manager of Information Services. Works closely with the IS Leadership team and all IS staff to assure that efforts and projects are not duplicative and that they support each other.

The IS Project Manager will also lead project teams to complete technology implementations as assigned to the project manager. This person will assign tasks in support of the execution of projects to develop, enhance, and support automated systems. The project manager will also be responsible for the development of project plans and schedules. Interfaces with all areas affected by the project including end users, distributors, and vendors. Ensures adherence to quality standards and project deliverables. General responsible for determining and coordinating the sharing of resources among their constituent projects to the overall benefit of the program or strategic plan. Plans, directs, and coordinates activities of designated projects to ensure that goals or objectives of projects are accomplished within prescribed time frame and funding parameters.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Manage the project portfolio of projects and incoming requests. Assist IS department leadership to ensure that assigned projects and changes are aligned with priorities, strategy, commitments and goals of the organization.

Develop and manage project intake and initial scoping process. Works closely with the IS Leadership team get requests assigned to assure that efforts and projects are not duplicative and that they support each other. Ensure that requesting end user departments have regular communication of the status of their requests.

Reviews project request, proposal, or plan to determine time frame, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing project, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources to various phases of project.

Establishes work plan and staffing for each phase of project, and arranges for recruitment or assignment of project personnel.

Confers with project staff to outline and prioritize workplan and to assign duties, responsibilities, and scope of authority in collaboration with leadership team.

Directs and coordinates activities of project personnel to ensure project progresses on schedule and within prescribed budget in collaboration with leadership team
