What are the responsibilities and job description for the Process Technician I position at FTS Inc?
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with others to develop methods and processes for various fiber optic terminations.
- Understand and utilize various process equipment within the Development lab.
- Work with global manufacturing resources to evaluate manufacturability of proposed solutions and support initial implementation of new process technologies.
- Provide project support by evaluating process concepts through configuration and modification of lab-based systems.
- Execute experimental plans by setting up equipment (e.g., measurement systems and mechanical apparatus), conducting experiments, and collecting data.
- Capture new ideas for potential patent submissions.
- Develop draft procedures for processes and equipment.
- Maintain and improve a safe work environment.
- Support the lab by upholding safety, environmental, and 5S standards.
Required Education:
- High School Diploma or GED
Required Skills:
- Strong problem-solving abilities
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude
- Capability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Proficiency in using hand and electrical tools
- Ability to follow detailed instructions
- Team-oriented mindset
- General computer knowledge, including MS Office
