Attic Salt is seeking a highly-motivated, passionate individual who is currently en route to growing their career in the retail industry to be a brand leader as our Assistant Store Manager at Hillsdale Mall.
Responsibilities of Assistant Store Manager includes, but not limited to:
Be a Brand Leader - Role Model
- Assist in cultivating the Attic Salt brand through being a leading representative that is reflective of our core values
- Contribute to cultivating a work culture and store atmosphere that is fun, unique, hip and reflective of our Attic Salt branding
- Lead by example when navigating day-to-day objectives while prioritizing the guest experience
- Be flexible in testing different marketing and management strategies in execution of brand representation and working closely with different departments
- Operate with an objective and solution-oriented mind-set
- If interested in becoming a Store Manager, work closely with District Manager and Store Manager to increasingly take on additional responsibilities
- Sales Management Driver while partnering with Store Manager for growth opportunities for all team members
- Achieve/ Exceed store sales goals through the implementation of revenue building strategies and sales data analytics
- Demonstrate an elevated level of customer engagement through impactful conversations and use of product knowledge, acting as a prime example for team members
- Ability to manage a sales floor, ensuring that it remains consistently stocked, team members are sales floor aware and zoned, and store atmosphere is reflective of our company culture and values
- Being flexible in testing new selling strategies, communications pieces and product knowledge
- Assist in making critical responses to Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) by developing micro-goals, business plans using sales data analytics
Team Development
- Assist in recruiting, hiring, and on-boarding great potential team members
- Assist in developing a company culture of continuous growth and accountability through the maintenance of positive employee relations such as developing, coaching, and leading a quality team
- Coach team members in creating a store atmosphere that is conducive to a fun and inviting shopping experience emphasizing a culture of excitement and enthusiasm for the products in a way that is guest-centric
- Assist in coaching a strong team that stays connected to customer and store needs, anticipating customer changes, and meeting customer challenges
- Analyze employee KPIs store KPI's to drive team morale and assist in creating business plans for continuous revenue growth
- Partner with Store Manager in delivering constructive feedback in timely manner that prompts developmental training
- Assist with the delivery of all performance documentation in a timely manner, including coaching and conflict resolution
Communication
- Ability to communicate important company information to its respective departments
- Ability to communicate product knowledge, KPI performance, and any necessary constructive feedback to team members and home office departments
- Ability to communicate any needs of the business, articulate store opportunities or issues with a solution-oriented mind
- Notifying Store Manager/Team of high theft areas or loss prevention issues once aware
Store Operations
- Demonstrates consistency in the utilization of technology in the store to remain updated on company policies, store promotions; and is competent in maximizing the technological resources to aid and improve upon any employee or guest experience
- Assist in optimizing the guest and team member experience by maximizing the use of technological resources such as but not limited to: POS, FOKO, NCR, Microsoft Office Suite, Google Drive etc.
- Assist in training register operations such as NCR, cash handling, etc.
- Ability to continuously challenge and educate team members on their competency in their operational roles
- Ensures day-to-day operations including open/ closing store protocols are completed to Attic Salt standards
- Assist in ensuring store is maintaining safety standards, company policies, and inventory on store supplies and resources
- Consistently takes an active role in reducing product loss through Loss Prevention training and maintaining Loss Prevention protocols
- Support Store Manager in achieving all financial and operational objectives
Visual Merchandising / Product
- Ability to process shipment and execute visual updates / floor changes to Attic Salt Visual Merchandising standards
- Ability to make executive decisions when making changes to visuals based off trends, product opportunities, and visual directive aesthetics after discussing with management
- Assist Store Manager and visual merchandising team with marketing strategies, being flexible to test out new marketing frequently
- Support product flow and able to delegate and train other team members on Attic Salt's visual merchandising standards
- Communicate effectively any discrepancies, visual opportunities, or positive highlights
- Ability to quickly learn and embrace new product with a positive attitude
- Train other team members to market and sell these products effectively
Qualification/ Basic Job Requirements:

- A sense of openness and adventure
- One year of retail management experience (or experience related in this field)
- Knowledge in retail operations, sales, customer service, merchandising, Inventory control, store budget preparation and loss prevention
- Staff Development Experience: Knowledge in staffing, coaching, counseling, training and development
- Basic computer skills, POS system and Microsoft office
- Assistant Store Managers must have a thorough understanding of, and ability to perform, all the duties and responsibilities of all subordinate positions including key holders and sales associates
