Summary:

Performs a variety of regular and recurring accounting functions, including but not limited to securing financial operations by performing daily reconciliations ensuring financials are reported timely and accurately. Responsible for addressing and resolving basic to advanced issues related to fuel supply. Responsible for providing support to Supply & Trading business operations, General Accounting (and related departments), internal & external audit and the tax departments. The Fuel Supply Senior Accountant will also be required to be self-driven and willing to assist the team in order to meet common goals and deadlines. Another function of the Fuel Supply Senior Accountant will be providing assistance in resolving customer and vendor inquiries, as well as inventory discrepancies.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Monitors the performance of the fuel and accounting systems by ensuring feeds and processes are running as scheduled and performing as expected related areas of responsibility.
    • Compiling and preparing of intermediate to high level/technical journal entries to general ledger accounts
    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
    • Ability to manage a high volume of transactions and data.
    • Assist management with ad hoc projects and process improvements.
    • Apply the financial policies and procedures of the organization and inform management of inconsistencies and problems.
    • Monthly P&L analysis and review
    • Work with internal and external customers and suppliers to research accounting variances, disputes and complex transactions
    • Prepare reports by collecting, formatting, analyzing and summarizing information as needed.
    • Performs other various duties as assigned.

    Education and/or Experience, Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

    To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential job duty satisfactorily. The requirements for this position are listed below:

    • 5 to 8 years of accounting or industry related experience
    • Experience working with RightAngle is preferred.
    • Strong analytic and data analysis skills required, especially MS Excel
    • Strong experience in SAP S/4 FIORI/Winshuttle
    • Prior fuel inventory and/or general ledger accounting experience is a plus.
    • Must display good judgment and be able to work independently, as needed.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Strong Excel Skills
    • SAP experience preferred
    • Bachelors Degree in Accounting Preferred

    Required experience is commensurate with the selected job level:

    • The Accountant level requires a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and 2-5 years of relevant experience
    • The Senior Accountant level requires a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and 5-8 years of relevant experience
    • The Lead Accountant level requires a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting and 8 years of relevant experience
