As a Medical Case and Claims Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient and effective handling of medical cases and claims within the healthcare organization. You will be responsible for managing the coordination, documentation, and resolution of medical cases and claims, ensuring adherence to regulatory guidelines and best practices. This role demands strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to communicate effectively with various stakeholders including healthcare providers, insurance companies, and patients. Case Management: Support and handle a caseload of illness or injury cases, and serve as the primary contact for IPs, providers, and other stakeholders. Claims Coordination: Coordinate all aspects of claims, including communication with key stakeholders which may include clients, insurance carriers, medical providers, and/or legal representatives. Documentation and Records Management: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records for each case, including medical records, claim forms, correspondence, and other relevant documentation. Compliance: Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards governing offshore cases and workers' compensation claims. (Jones Act, USLHW, and Workman's Compensation claims, from initial filing through resolution) Communication: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, providing regular updates on the status of their cases and addressing any questions or concerns they may have. Collaboration: Work closely with legal teams, medical professionals, and other stakeholders to gather information, develop strategies, and achieve optimal outcomes for clients. Client Advocacy: Advocate for clients' rights and entitlements throughout the claims process, ensuring they receive the appropriate medical treatment and compensation they deserve. Serve as the Designated Employer Representative (DER) in the management of DOT-regulated plans and non-DOT regulated plans. This may include the coordination of D&A testing and maintenance of compliance platforms as needed. Job Requirements Legally authorized to work in the United States, without restrictions HIsh school diploma required. Bachelor’s preferred in related field (e.g. healthcare administration, nursing, case management, or legal studies) Over 3 years of experience working with relevant laws, regulations, and procedures governing medical case management, and workman’s compensation. Desire for Healthcare background, case management or related field (e.g. Certified Case Manager) a plus. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities Possess strong working knowledge of computers and fluent in a variety of software applications. (including but not limited to MS Office) Must have strong analytical and problem-solving skills. 10-15% travel may be needed What’s in it for you?
