The Role

 

The Customer Service Representative’s primary job function is to manage and maintain close relationships with customers, providing internal point of contact for resolution of customer issues. Follow-up with customers in related sales and management objectives.

Key responsibilities for this role include

 

  • Act as the internal champion and primary contact for customers’ daily business activities including order entry and confirmations, pricing notifications, order delay notifications, internal communications between departments, and other items as needed to drive customer satisfaction; primarily utilizing Microsoft Outlook for communications and SAP for order management.
  • Functions as member of Supply Chain team working with other Customer Service Representatives, Transportation Planners, and Inventory Control Specialists; interfaces with each area as necessary.
  • Aids in reducing customer complaints while growing profits – working closely with quality, commercial and accounting teams.
  • Takes part in cross-functional meetings as needed.
  • Performs as Customer Advocate fully managing some accounts working closely with commercial team.
  • Abides by all safety procedures and practices applicable to location and position; participates in appropriate safety training; demonstrates commitment to and support of EH&S principles and values; champions safety as necessary.
  • Performs other duties assigned by management that fall within the generally expected scope of this position.

 

REQUIREMENTS

 

  • Minimum of a high school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of 3 to 5 years prior experience in Customer Service, preferably in Supply Chain environments utilizing SAP.
  • Expert knowledge in providing top tier customer service to customer base.
  • Ability to prioritize work; multi-tasking skills; detail oriented and good listener.
  • Customer service focus, ability to deal with diverse personalities, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast - paced role and adapt to each customer’s style and requirements.
  • Self-directed to accomplish daily and routine tasks.
  • Excellent English communications skills including ability to read, write, and speak fluently; ability to communicate with customers and business partners.
  • Solid computer skills including Microsoft Office Suite, various email and internet programs and applications, SAP or similar ERP system experience.
  • Experience answering phone calls and handling inquiries.
  • This is a safety-sensitive position that requires candidates to successfully pass a post-offer drug screening prior to employment. One of the essential job functions is the ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
