Position Summary
The Buyer is responsible for managing the stock and drop-ship Supply Chain processes to maintain expected customer service levels. Manages stock inventory levels through purchasing decisions and returns; has the primary responsibility for developing day-to-day working relationships with assigned vendors and vendor representatives; and maintains the inventory and vendor database files as the primary tools for managing purchase orders and investment levels.
Essential Job Functions
- Maintain optimal stock balance across a broad range of products, as determined by many complex factors set according to varyingly assigned target service levels.
- Process small individual orders on a constant time-sensitive basis, maintaining accuracy and compliance across a wide variety of supplier requirements for submission.
- Process larger orders on a weekly schedule, maintaining accuracy and compliance across a wide variety of supplier requirements for submission.
- Analyze sales and inventory relationships to ensure in-stock and months of supply goals are achieved.
- Evaluate weekly replenishment orders to submit to vendors that meet supply chain standards for months of supply.
- Identify aging or overstocked inventory and initiate vendor stock rotations.
- Respond on a short timescale to internal requests/needs on demand by collecting PO information from suppliers, such as tracking, fulfillment status, etc.
- Ensure our records are consistently and accurately maintained as per the most current information from our suppliers.
- Partner with vendors to maintain weekly estimated delivery dates. Respond swiftly to customer service and sales department requests for purchase order status updates.
- Work closely with the Receiving team to research discrepancies between what is ordered and what is delivered.
- Partner closely with cross functional departments to resolve accounting and receiving discrepancies.
- Identify aging or overstocked inventory and initiate vendor stock rotations.
- Respond promptly to customer service and sales department requests for purchase order status updates and execution of sales order cancelations with vendors.
- Ability to manage high volume key vendors independently.
- Other duties as assigned.
Required Education and Experience
- High School Diploma, or equivalent.
- 3 years of related experience.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.
Preferred Education and Experience
- Bachelor's Degree preferred.
- AX experience preferred.

Work Environment
Work is performed in an office environment with minimal, if any, travel outside of the office. Requires the ability to sit for extended periods; frequently stand and walk; normal manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination; lift and move objects weighing up to 25 pounds; corrected hearing and vision to normal range; use of standard office equipment, including a computer, telephone, copier, printer, and fax machine.
