POSITION SUMMARY:
The Commerce Engineer participates in aspects of design, architecture, and development of a high-volume transactional e-commerce platform built primarily with Salesforce Commerce Cloud (SFCC). He/she has a passion for building, robust, well-architected solutions, takes scalability and maintainability seriously, and has a desire to keep current with and learn new technologies.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Participate in the development of full stack web and backend applications in a high-volume transactional ecommerce environment with Salesforce Commerce Cloud,
- Ensure the right technology choices are made and strive for excellence in engineering
- Learning new skills and mentoring other team members.
- Help shape and enforce development standards and practices throughout the organization
- Collaborate within the team and across multiple departments
- Perform peer code and architectural reviews
- Take ownership of features and delivery
- Participate in planning and be engaged in the Agile process
- Full SDLC support through post development activities including automated and integration testing, deployment, and production support
- Thrive on solving complex problems and creating high quality, highly scalable software solutions
- Effective time management and prioritization skills
- Excellent communication skills
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor's or Master’s Degree (preferred) in Computer Science or related field.
- 1-2 years of professional experience in Salesforce Commerce Cloud or Demandware
- Engineering expertise
- A strong computer science background and solid experience with object oriented design and programming
- Well versed in web, backend and database development principles.
- Experience in agile software development teams
- Proficiency or familiarity with AWS is a big plus
