Pay Rate: $19.60/hr. | Shift: 1st and 2nd
*Must be open to working 10-12 hr. shifts*
Summary of Position
The Harvest Driver is an entry-level driver of various types of vehicles during the harvest season.
Vehicles driven include, but are not limited to: forklifts, “yard goat” trucks, man lifts and tractors. The
Driver utilizes these vehicles to transfer product and equipment within various pistachio & almond
harvest facilities. The Driver plays a vital role in their contribution to the over-all goals of the
Harvest Operations Department.
Duties & Responsibilities
(You may be asked to perform some, or all of the duties described below)
• Perform pre-operational safety and function inspections on assigned vehicles daily.
• Operate all assigned vehicles in a safe and efficient manner according to training, supervisor, and
lead instructions.
• Seek to continually improve existing skills and gain new skills in the operation of all assigned
vehicles and supplementary equipment.
• Keep Assigned areas of responsibility clean and well organized.
Critical Skills
• All “Task Level I” Critical Skills.
• Work effectively on a team to accomplish tasks or goals.
• Consistently follow standard work and standard operating procedures.
• Organize tasks and execute assignments.
Functional Skills
• Move double stacked wooden product bins from one point to another using standard propane powered forklifts.
• Safely operate all job-related machinery and equipment required for the performance of assigned tasks.
• Safely transport product from one area to another.
• Work together with a team of associates when performing duties and responsibilities.
• Exercise good judgment when performing written or oral instructions.
• Complete required documents accurately, and in a timely manner (if applicable).
• Communicate effectively in either English or Spanish.
• Bilingual in English/Spanish (preferred but not required).
• Communicate issues or concerns to supervisor in a timely manner.
• Knowledge of basic mathematical functions specific to addition and subtraction (preferred, but not required).
• Entry level computer skills (preferred but not required).
• Attend safety meetings and other departmental or company related meetings as assigned.
• Participate in all “Lock Out-Tag Out” (LOTO) and Job Safety Analysis (JSA) events and trainings.
• Observe all “Good Manufacturing Practices” (GMPs) as specified by the Company’s food safety policy.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.
Education / Experience
• At least 1-year previous experience driving.
• Training provided.
Physical Demands / Work Environment
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be regularly required to stand, sit, use
hands and fingers to handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear.
• The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and ability to adjust focus.
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee may be exposed to moving mechanical parts
and condensed work areas. The employee may also be exposed to dust particles.
• The employee may occasionally be exposed to temperatures above 90 and below 40 degrees. The
noise level in the work environment is usually loud. The dust levels in the work environment are
usually high. (Safety protection provided).
• The employee may spend 95% or more of their work hours on the plant floor
