Food & Nutrition Services
Part-time
32 hours, bi-weekly
Hours vary between 5:00 am - 8:00 pm. Includes occasional nights, weekends and holiday rotation.
Assists with daily operations of the department, as necessary, with special attention to customer service and the safety of our patients, visitors, and employees. Responsible for the supervision, training and management of the food operation. Ensures the appropriate quantities of food are prepared and served.
· Directs daily activities.
· Reviews daily schedule for staffing issues.
· Maintains food production that ensures the safety & quality of food according to policies, procedures, & department requirements.
· Ensures that all food items are stored in a safe, organized and hazard-free environment.
· Maintains all serving schedules, ensuring that all food items are served per menu specifications in a safe and appropriate manner following FCHC policies & procedures.
· Maintains a sanitary department following health & safety codes and regulations.
· Maintains accurate inventory for weekly ordering.
· May prepare orders as needed to ensure accurate production for location.
· Promotes employee growth, efficiency, morale and teamwork.
· Maintains a safe and hazard-free working environment.
· Trains/mentors other food services workers.
· Maintains logs on all maintenance required on equipment within the department.
· Ensures all food safety/temperature logs are completed with appropriate corrective action, as necessary.
· Performs preventative maintenance checklist.
· Recommends replacement of existing equipment to meet needs of facility.
· Is proficient in multi-tasking.
· Performs other duties as requested by the Food & Nutrition Services Director or Managers whenever his/her skill and/or experience would be vital to initiate, coordinate or complete any given program.
· Fills in for absent employees at location, as necessary.
· Maintains knowledge of daily catering events and confirms they are prepared and delivered on time.
· Able to work occasional night and weekend catered events.
· Attends food service meetings with staff.
· Maintains communication with staff (including office staff, e-mail, phone calls, inter-office mail, etc.).
· Promotes good public relations.
· Is flexible with schedules and duties (list of duties may change at any time with or without notice).
Requirements
Associates degree or equivalent experience preferred. Manager Food Safety Certification preferred.
