Position Overview:
The Sr. Director, Brand and Marketing Creative is a critical stakeholder within the overall Funko Marketing function, responsible for the strategic development and oversight of Funko’s creative, consumer-facing content and visual identity.
A creative professional who thrives in a fast-paced and dynamic environment, the ideal candidate will lead and develop a team of creatives as they develop impactful, move-the-needle work to engage our fans and build the Funko brand.
Equal parts transformative leader and creative visionary, this dynamic leader is tapped into pop-culture and has a deep understanding of what it takes to engage the Funko fan, translating the Funko brand and product stories into compelling creative and content that builds and elevates the brand.
Responsibilities:
- Solidify, manage and steward the overall Funko brand identity, driving consistency and elevation across teams and geographies
- Drive all Funko brand creative projects from conception through execution with high-quality, innovative creative that aligns to the overall brand positioning, marketing plan, licensed-partner needs, and channel specifics
- Deliver impactful conceptual and production needs for all marketing collateral and produced content, including that for social media, funko.com, paid media, retail, events and experiential and for internal/company usage.
- Partners with Integrated Marketing, PR, Social Media/Influencer Marketing, and sales channel owners to create compelling campaigns that enhance brand presence while meeting commercial goals
- Develops and fosters relationships with product creative teams to ensure a cohesive fan experience that seamlessly connects product and brand storytelling
- Leads, mentors, and inspires a team of high-performing creatives across design, copy, and studio teams
- Establishes and institutionalizes brand guidelines across the organization, as well as with licensor and retail partners
- Identifies needs and manages creative outsourcing and agency relationships
- Communicates art direction goals at an executive level with corporate teams and external partners
- Develops and executes creative strategies in alignment with the Company's overall objectives.
- Provides visionary leadership to the creative team, fostering a culture of innovation and collaboration.
- Drives the ideation process, translating conceptual ideas into compelling visual representations.
- Fosters a positive and collaborative work environment, encouraging the team to deliver high-quality, innovative work.
- Develops and communicates creative concepts that align with brand identity and resonate with target audiences.
- Actively participates in hiring, training, development & resourcing the team.
- Serves as the strategic leader and voice for all content and brand marketing.
- Manages content team’s bandwidth and assignments.
- Manages relationships with cross functional teams to provide strategic directions for creative and communications timelines
- Establishes the objectives, key results, processes and workflow to ensure a high functioning group
- Serves as creative leadership partner to Integrated Marketing team and the Entertainment Division to plan content strategy and asset development with focus on improvements and evolution based on creative performance to support all campaigns aligned to the Brand Marketing Calendar
Marketing Creative Director Requirements:
- 10-12 years of progressive Creative Marketing experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Art or Design or equivalent experience required
- Demonstrated experience leading and developing a high-performing team
- Experience designing and implementing a creative marketing organizational structure
- Proven ability to develop cross-functional partnerships (can lead with authority as well as through influence)
- Experience leading and guiding a team of creatives from a variety of disciplines, including design, copy, photo and video. Experience both doing and leading the work is critical for success
- Ability to innovate and drive progressive change
- Deep experience and interest in social media, including content and storytelling needs across multiple channels (Instagram, TikTok, X, etc.)
- Experience leading creative marketing for a global brand highly preferred

Salary Information
The base salary range for this position is $150,000 -200,000 annually. Compensation may vary outside of this range depending on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location.
