Join our award winning team of dog trainers. All team members are employees. Fur-Get Me Not handles marketing, payroll, student registration and class management, training supplies, and billing. We also support each team member's professional development with a reimbursement program and offer various company benefits. We have openings for a Certified Professional Dog Trainer, a Certified Nose Work Instructor, or someone well on their path to become a Certified Trainer (CPDT-KA) to join our team. Our greatest needs is on Saturdays from 8am-2pm or some portion of that time.

We offer a variety of training services:

  • Group classes include behavior (reactive, fear, impulse), Good Manners, and Enrichment (e.g. tricks, scent work, socialization). Group classes are offered on weekends (8am-2pm) and weekday evenings (5pm-8:30pm) at our Dog Training School in Arlington.
  • Private lessons are offered at the customer's home, our facility, or virtually. These are scheduled based on the trainer's and customer's availability.
  • On demand training is offered during the day on weekdays (typically 12pm-3pm) at either our facility or at the customer's home.

Requirements:

  • All candidates should have previous experience conducting private training sessions or group classes specifically related to general obedience and good manners.
  • Some candidates may also have hands-on experience in behavior-specific (fear, anxiety, reactivity, etc.) coaching.
  • Candidate should be able to demonstrate a history of skills using positive training methods and promote these methods actively above all other forms of training. We will not entertain candidates that come from a strictly punishment-based or "balanced training" background.
  • Candidates must agree to our core principles and goals which are to guide clients in developing a mutual trust and relationship with their dogs, using positive reinforcement methods only.
  • Professional and positive attitude with team members and clients. We are searching for people that enjoy dogs but equally enjoy working with people and we cannot stress this enough!
  • Demonstrate an interest in expanding their knowledge in the animal behavior field through books, webinars, and in person seminars conducted by other leaders in the field. As well as a willingness to share what you learn with your team as a continual pathway to improving upon our training programs.

Candidate should have minimum 3 years experience and have one of the following certifications CPDT-KA, CPDT-KSA, CBCC-KA, IAABC CDBC, IAABC ADBC KPA CTP, IACP-CDT, IACP-CDTA

Fur-Get Me Not is a family owned and operated pet care business that opened in 2000 and provides a full suite of pet services including dog walking, pet sitting, dog daycare, and boarding. We have offered dog training services since 2006. Our group classes and private offerings focus on getting adopted rescues off to a good start and developing well-mannered family dogs. We also emphasize personalized training and offer a variety of behavior related group classes. We are committed to teaching people how to train their dogs using positive training methods, with a focus on learning theory and animal behavior.
