Job Title: Accountant
Reports To: Finance Manager
Furniture Solutions Group seeks an ambitious, detail-oriented accounting professional to assist and develop the activities of the finance function while working closely with our operations team.
The staff accountant will be responsible for maintaining the general ledger, producing financial statements for internal and external use, and supporting the company's vision and goals.
Qualified applicants will have a bachelor's degree (Accounting, Business Administration or Finance preferred), a minimum of three years of related experience and demonstrable knowledge of accounting principles.
An appreciation of constant change in a fast-growing, small business environment is essential for success in the role.
Duties:
· Monthly financial statement preparation
· Monthly bank and credit card reconciliations
· Client billing and recording of incoming payments
· Accounts receivable
· General ledger maintenance
· Management of employee expenses process
· Financial statement analysis (actuals vs. budget, prior periods)
· Development of finance team processes
· Support the Finance Manager with other tasks involved in executing the role of the function
· Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities
Skills/Qualifications:
· Bachelor's degree in Accounting preferred
· 3 years accounting experience
· Knowledge of US GAAP and sales tax regulations
· Extensive knowledge of Quickbooks or similar accounting software
· High level of proficiency in Excel (e.g. pivot tables)
· Familiarity with web-based software and applications
