As an APU Specialist, you will play a crucial role in maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting auxiliary power units installed on various aircraft types. Your strong understanding of APU systems and technical expertise will be key in diagnosing and rectifying issues.
Responsibilities
Perform routine inspections and maintenance tasks on aircraft auxiliary power units.
Diagnose APU malfunctions using advanced diagnostic equipment.
Execute repairs and component replacements on APUs following industry best practices.
Conduct performance tests and functional checks on APUs.
Collaborate with other maintenance personnel to coordinate APU-related activities.
Document all maintenance and repair activities accurately.
Participate in training programs to stay updated on the latest APU technologies.
Maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Adhere to established safety protocols during maintenance operations.
Provide technical assistance and guidance to junior technicians.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical education in aviation maintenance preferred.
36-150 APU experience (preferred).
FAA Airframe and Powerplant (A&P) Mechanic certificate (preferred).
3-5 years of experience with aircraft auxiliary power units.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical manuals, diagrams, and schematics.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Experience using specialized tools for APU maintenance and repair.
Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Flexibility to work non-standard hours and respond to APU-related emergencies.
Compensation
The compensation for this position ranges from $30-$40 per hour, based on experience. In addition, we offer a quarterly performance bonus.
