JOB SUMMARY:
Fusion92 is seeking an experienced, driven, and detail-oriented Search Engine Optimization Strategist to help formulate and execute SEO strategies for B2B and B2C clients. Clients range from mid-market to enterprise-level. As part of our growing SEO team, the SEO Strategist will work with the Director of SEO to create and execute on-site, off-site, and technical SEO strategies that align with the client’s goals and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).

This role can be remote or a part of our Chicago or Detroit offices.
*While our offices are currently open, daily in-office attendance is not required.
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Learn our SEO processes and combine them with your existing SEO knowledge.
- Maintain an up-to-date understanding of the current state of SEO across these areas: technical SEO, on-page/content optimization, inbound-linking & authority development.
- Perform keyword research in coordination with client business objectives.
- Audit client websites, competitors, and search engine results to identify organic opportunities.
- Leveraging analytics and keyword research to help develop, manage, and evolve SEO project roadmaps to improve clients’ organic rankings, traffic, and conversions.
- Execute a range of on-site, off-site, and technical SEO tasks including, but not limited to
- Optimizing existing or developing new content
- Performing regular technical SEO audits and providing recommendations to web developers for resolving issues
- Creating 301 redirect maps
- Optimizing metadata and URLs
- Creating Schema
- Identifying opportunities for internal linking
- Auditing a client’s backlink profile for toxic links and creating disavow files
- Building and executing link-building strategies to enhance off-page SEO.
- Prepare and present client reports that identify insights and trends then provide proactive recommendations for overall organic performance, algorithm changes, and other competitive activity.
- Work with Fusion92 team members to factor SEO considerations into relevant projects.
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ATTRIBUTES REQUIRED:
- BA/BS Required
- 2-3 years of SEO experience
- A full, complete understanding of SEO, and search engine algorithms, how SEO works, and how marketers can influence search results via technical improvements to the website's code, on-page optimizations, and linking strategies.
- The ability to "illustrate SEO success and value" to our clients through reporting on web analytics, rankings, and other metrics that are SEO KPIs.

- Experience working with and communicating with clients
- Excellent data and analysis skills, strong in tools like Google Analytics, Google Sheets, and Excel.
- An understanding of the SEO tools and platforms available in the market such as SEMrush, ScreamingFrog, Looker Studio, and Ahrefs
- Working knowledge of HTML/CSS/JavaScript and website structures, as well as deep expertise in Technical SEO.
- An understanding of common CMS platforms like WordPress is a plus
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills - able to simplify complex strategies and topics in a friendly, approachable manner and present complex topics to Clients
- Expertise in completing online keyword research and competitive analysis.
