Fairway Construction Co., Inc.(FWC) is one of the family of companies under JES Holdings, LLC. FWC offers general contracting, construction consultation and design-build services to construct single-family homes, senior communities, multi-family developments, conventional housing and the rehabilitation of historic properties. The FWC Internship program is an excellent opportunity for college students to gain exposure and hands on experience within the field and project sides of construction. FWC Interns will have the opportunity to learn the business end of a project, be exposed to the project pipeline as well as gain exposure to activities that occur in the field working with Superintendents and Foreman. Interns have the opportunity to gain a lot of visibility to the FWC team, working directly with the VP of Operations, Project Managers, Project Coordinators, Project Superintendents, Foreman and more!
Essential Functions:
- Assist the preconstruction team with estimating, budget creation, bid solicitation, subcontractor qualification and other administrative duties.
- Assist the project management team with Document management, RFI’s, Submittal management, subcontractor communication and other duties required by the project team.
- Assist the Field Team to understand site logistics, scheduling, ensure safety standards are met, review drawings and ensure project is being built according to contract documents. Work closely with field team to understand and provide solutions to problems.
- Learn about the overall general operations of the multi-family/senior living general construction business.
- Conduct all business in a professional and ethical manner.
- Provide reliable transportation to designated location for work.
- Willing to work overtime as required.
- Willing to travel overnight as needed to benefit the organization.
Minimum Education/Equivalent Experience Requirements:
- Pursuing a Bachelor’s degree from four-year College or university majoring in Construction or Building Management (or similar discipline).
- Daily usage of a vehicle to be able to commute into the office or construction project sites
- Ability to travel possibly overnight for projects as needed
- Strong communications sills
- Ability to work overtime as needed
- Proficient in Microsoft Access

Physical Demands
- Climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, bending, reaching, walking, pushing, pulling, and carrying. Lifting may include up to 50 pounds. Walking 30% of job.
- Ability to perform work sitting at a work station using a computer and other office equipment.
- Ability to walk around jobsite and climb stairs.
- Ability to work extended hours as needed.
- Ability to operate an insured and licensed vehicle.
Work Environment
- Duties performed both inside and outside even in extreme temperatures of below 32 degrees and above 100 degrees. Exposure to building, construction or painting chemicals.

- Computer, Telephone, Fax, Copier, Scanner Laptop, cell phone, camera, power tools, hand tools, painting and building supplies.
