Position Summary:
The Network Engineer is responsible for working with an outsourced vendor that maintains FXI's computer networks, servers, communications, and other hardware and software related to the infrastructure. This position requires supporting equipment on-premise, virtual, and in the Cloud. FXI has a mix of on prem and Microsoft Azure Network technologies. This position requires working with the team for continuous improvement related to FXI's overall infrastructure posture. The Network Engineer's duties will contribute to ensuring that both on-prem and cloud based systems operate effectively, efficiently, and securely. Serve as the subject matter expert and team member reporting to the Director of Infrastructure. This position requires a result-driven with a minimum of seven years of experience implementing projects and supporting a production IT infrastructure for mid to large-size organizations.
Responsibilities
- Monitoring computer systems to improve network performance for all systems
- Working with outsourced vendors to maintain and enhance a product support IT environment
- Troubleshooting, resolving with the vendor, and communicating networking issues to other employees and management
- Ability to multi-task between project and support requirements
- Implementation and support of SD-WAN environments
- Implementing and maintaining disaster recovery procedures
- Maintaining current knowledge and understanding of security and networking best practices to offer the best solutions and protection to FXI's systems
- Work with vendors to implement new network solutions as required
- Manage day-to-day activity related to the Network and other FXI development teams with their requirements
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology or related field of study preferred; or equivalent work experience that amounts to a three to five years of experience implementing network projects and supporting a production IT network for mid to large-size organizations
- Strong knowledge of Enterprise Switches, & Routers
- Knowledge of Lan, Virtual Lan, Wireless technologies
- Experienced with SD-Wan environments
- CISCO Certified network administrator
- Microsoft Azure certified Administrator (MCAA) or other Cloud vendor certifications is preferred
- Demonstrated "hands-on" technical skills and strong organizational skills. With the ability to prioritize workload in a fast-paced environment
- Proficient reading, writing, grammar, and mathematics skills with a solid ability to lead presentations and discussions with senior management
- Able to achieve business results by influencing people outside a direct reporting relationship
- Security certifications from IC2, CompTIA, or Microsoft, are a plus.
- Experience working in a company with SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft ERP systems is a plus
- Other Microsoft Certified Professional certificates, PMP, or ITIL Foundation, are a plus
- Knowledge of PM tools such as Smartview or MS Project is a plus
