Fyusion is a leading machine learning and computer vision company focused on automotive inspections and related applications. Our patented 3D format enables anyone to capture and display interactive 3D images using their smartphone, and enables significant added functionality with deep visual understanding and machine learning-driven analysis.


Founded in 2014, Fyusion is now part of the Cox Automotive family. Our team includes some of the world's top researchers and developers in light field imaging and AI, continuing to push boundaries and innovate at the highest level from our San Francisco research center.


The Hardware Systems team is part of the Engineering Department at Fyusion. The team works closely and in direct communication with the Engineering, Research, and Support team when necessary. The team's duties are to design, test, integrate and support systems for various research or production projects. The Hardware Systems team works closely with the other teams and customers during all stages of a product/projects lifecycle. 


We are looking for a capable Systems Engineer who can provide a high level of insight and effort in a fast paced team environment. You will be responsible for working with different systems, software, and hardware, as well as following standard procedures or implementing new, innovative ones. The ideal candidate will be able to reliably design and deliver mission-critical infrastructure with focus on optimization, scalability and security.

Here's the day to day:
  • Collaborate with various teams to define hardware system requirements, specifications, and architecture for various projects.
  • Design, develop, and implement system solutions that meet team/project objectivesIntegrate hardware, software, networks, and third-party components like sensors, cameras and embedded systemsIdentify and mitigate potential risks, ensuring the security, stability, and robustness of the systems.
  • Configure and troubleshoot hardware and software components, resolving technical issues and ensuring smooth system operation.
  • Collaborate with software developers, researchers and quality assurance teams to ensure proper implementation and testing of system components.
  • Document system design, architecture, processes, and procedures for reference and future maintenance.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to continuously improve system engineering processes.
  • Built prototypes, test systems, research apparatus.
  • Travel to customer sites if necessary, to troubleshoot problems not reproducible in lab.


Here’s what we are looking for:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related field preferred. Masters is a bonus.
  • Proven experience in systems engineering, system integration, or a related role.
  • Proficiency in system design.
  • Strong knowledge of hardware, software, and network systems/ components and their interactions.
  • Solid understanding of system performance optimization, reliability, and scalability principles.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and protocols relevant.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot novel and complex problems.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey technical information clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Some project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
