SUMMARY
We are seeking seasonal coil cleaning technicians to join our team for the upcoming coil cleaning season in Whiting, Indiana.
Reporting to the Service Manager, this position will collaborate closely with the service team to deliver efficient coil cleaning operations.
Key responsibilities include performing coil cleaning operations under the guidance of the Service Manager, collaborating effectively with the service team to ensure timely and efficient service delivery, and adhering to all safety protocols and company standards.
Ideal candidates possess mechanical aptitude and the ability to thrive in a teamwork environment. Job requirements include a willingness to submit to a random drug screening.
This temporary or seasonal position offers valuable experience in preventative maintenance and potential growth within the HVAC field, with the opportunity to transition into a regular full-time role at the end of the season.
Location : Whiting, Indiana
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Punctuality is essential; must arrive on time every morning to prepare for the day ahead, including scheduled jobs and weekly meetings.
- Learn and adhere to FSI's "Coil Cleaning procedures," following the established sequence of operations.
- Review work orders' service notes and diligently follow instructions.
- Disassemble (RTU) panels, hoods, and metal mesh as necessary, and reassemble them after cleaning.
- Lead or assist in setting up at every job-site location and participate in cleanup upon completion of work.
- Attach pressure hoses, often exceeding 600 feet, and monitor water levels in our 550-gallon water tanks.
- Safely hoist equipment onto roofs and lower it back down after work completion.
- Maintain the Trailer (Pressure Washer) in functional condition, completing the Weekly Trailer Inspection sheet accurately and on time.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Current enrollment in or recent graduation from an HVAC Trade or Technical School, demonstrating a commitment to gaining practical experience, preferred
- OSHA certifications are ideal; however, they are not necessary as training will be provided.
- Must be 18 years or older to be considered for the position.
- Previous experience in construction, roofing, carpentry, or as cable TV / alarm installers, indicating a desire for a career transition and adaptability to new roles.
- Demonstrated mechanical aptitude, showcasing the ability to understand and work with machinery effectively.
- Strong organizational skills, efficiency, and a results-driven mindset, ensuring tasks are completed accurately and on time.
- Enjoyment of collaborative work environments, fostering teamwork and effective communication with colleagues.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, along with a customer-oriented approach, enhancing interactions with clients and team members.
- Proven experience working outdoors year-round, demonstrating resilience and adaptability to various weather conditions.
- Proficiency in reading, writing, and effectively communicating in English, essential for understanding job instructions and safety guidelines.
- Capability to work independently with minimal supervision after completing training, showcasing self-reliance and initiative.
- Availability to work weekends and overtime as needed, demonstrating flexibility and dedication to meeting project demands.
REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to lift 50-75 pounds daily, ensuring physical fitness and capacity for the demands of the role.
- Comfort working at heights and with ladders, ensuring safety and confidence in performing tasks on elevated surfaces.
- Possession of a valid driver's license and a clean driving record.
- Experience with driving a van with a trailer attached
