What are the responsibilities and job description for the Receiver position at G&C / Palmer?
Shift: Days, Mon., Tues., Thurs. 5am start and Friday 2pm start
Receivers work 4 (10) shifts, receiving products as delivered, manually lifting and moving product cases using a variety of equipment and at different temperatures. G&C Foods employees work as a team to ensure accurate and efficient results.
Responsibilities:
- Verify product invoice(s) to ensure accuracy of delivery, sign off that product has been verified or notate and discrepancies on bill(s) and cover sheet prior to receiving
- Receive product as it is delivered, scan product using hand scanner efficiently and accurately
- Palletize product (stack on pallets) according to weight and product type if needed.
- Re-throw pallets when product is damaged if needed
- Breakdown and separate pallets when they are too high or of mixed product type if needed.
- Upon completion of receiving process, product shall be transported to designated area(s)
- Operation of a powered industrial truck (PIT)
- Additional duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent required preferred
- 1 year of warehouse experience in the foodservice distribution industry or related industry (2-3 years preferred)
- Strong knowledge of foodservice products, product categories and foodservice warehouse operations·
- Must be able to efficiently utilize ABLE (computerized inventory system)
- One year of safe and efficient operation of pallet jack and double pallet jack
- Strong communication and presentation skills, motivation and energy
- Ability to interact with all levels of management and staff
- Strong problem solving skills and organization and time management
Candidates must be in current position for at least six (6) months, in a good disciplinary standing and meet the job requirements of the position to qualify for the position.
